Bolinda South Devons
Bolinda South Devon Stud was founded in 1998 with a focus of producing bulls to utilise for cross breeding in our own commercial herd.
The cow base has been steadily built up and now numbers 65 breeding females. Females were selected for structural soundness, milking ability, growth and Breedplan figures.
The herd was made up of purchases including; 3 cows from the pick of the Lincoln Stud in 2009 and 5 more Lincoln cows and 2 heifers in 2010, 4 cows from the Nardlah South Devon (WA) Reduction Sales, 9 females from the Craivon South Devon (SA) Reduction Sale, 2 cows from the Braeburn South Devon Dispersal Sale, the top priced cow from the 2001 & 2002 Merilba South Devon Production Sales and 8 cows from the Waminda South Devon Dispersal Sale and also 4 cows and 5 heifers from the Alpha and Ace South Devon Studs. In 2011 purchased 1 cow from Gadara Stud Disperal Sale In SA.
In 2002 we exhibited the highest scoring South Devon carcass at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. This was followed up with the equal top priced bulls at the 2003 & 2005 Everreddy South Devon Bull Sales and also equal top price at the 2009 and 2011 Bolinda South Devon Bull Sale.
2006 sees a new direction for us, moving to an on property sale incorporating Alpha and Ace South Devon Studs as guest vendors.
